TIL I was sending my resume as a Word doc for two years
A hiring manager in Seattle finally emailed back asking for a PDF, saying the formatting looked broken on her end. I must have looked unprofessional to dozens of people. What's the most basic thing you've been doing wrong without realizing?

Remember when everyone switched from fax machines to email? I kept faxing estimates for a solid six months after my main supplier stopped checking their machine. Found a stack of them in their office, completely unread.
