Took a temp job for 3 days and it changed my entire career plan

I signed up for a weekend data entry gig at a local warehouse thinking it was just easy cash, but the repetitive work and total lack of human interaction made me realize I actually need a job where I talk to people and solve real problems. The lady next to me had been there 8 years and barely looked up from her screen, and I think that scared me more than any bad boss ever did. Has anyone else taken a random side job and had it completely flip what you thought you wanted?

Man that lady sitting there for 8 years totally disconnected is brutal. Did you walk out the last day and just feel this huge relief that you didn't have to go back?

My buddy took a random landscaping gig one summer just for beer money. Spent like 5 hours digging a trench in the heat and realized he never wanted to do that again. But the weird part is it pushed him back to finish his nursing degree because he kept thinking about how much he hated being outside all day. Now he works nights in the ER and loves it. Funny how a crappy side job can just snap everything into focus like that.
