Vent: My promotion dragged on for more than a year

I was told I would get a promotion at work early last year. Every month, I asked for updates but got vague replies. They said the company was restructuring and to be patient. I saw others move up while I stayed in the same role. After fourteen months, I finally received the offer letter. That long wait really tested my faith in the job. How do you handle delays in career growth?

Fourteen months for an offer letter, how did you not lose your mind?

Heard a career coach say to document every promise and follow up in writing. It cuts through the fog and shows you're serious.

In my experience, it also creates a paper trail that can protect you later. Take that with a grain of salt, but it's saved me a few times.
