Warning: I almost missed a job offer because I didn't check my spam folder for a month

A company I really wanted to work for emailed me a follow-up interview request. I never saw it because it went to spam. I only found it yesterday, a full four weeks after they sent it. I felt sick when I saw the date. I sent a very apologetic reply right away, but I have no idea if the role is still open. Has anyone else had a company's email get filtered out like this, and did you manage to recover the opportunity?

Yeah, I read a tech blog that said a lot of corporate mail servers get flagged as spam now. Really hope they get back to you.
