Warning: Tried a 90-day plan from a career coach and my team hated it

I followed this online coach's advice to restructure my daily tasks into 90-day sprints. Three weeks in, my junior staff complained they couldn't keep up with the shifting priorities. Has anyone else had a structured plan backfire on them at work?

Did you start the sprints with the team's input at all? I learned that the hard way when I tried to roll out a project plan I thought was solid. My group didn't complain but they just ignored the new timeline. So I stopped everything and called a quick meeting. I asked them what pace felt right and what deadlines made sense. We ended up with a looser schedule that still got done on time. The key was letting them help shape it instead of me just handing it down.

Totally agree, that's exactly what I went through. My team just nodded along to my timeline but then totally ghosted the deadlines until I finally sat down with them and asked what was realistic. Now we start every sprint by letting everyone throw out their own estimates, and it seriously saved the whole project.
