Borrowed a guy's Japanese pull saw at a job in Boise and my push saws haven't come off the truck since
Was framing out a closet shelving unit for a customer off State Street in Boise about 4 months back and realized halfway through I left my good dovetail saw back at the shop. The homeowner's brother was there visiting and offers me this little Japanese pull saw, said he picked it up for $35. I was skeptical, I'm used to pushing a western saw and figured this thing would wander all over the cut. Thing sliced through a 1x6 like it was soft butter, cut was dead square and I barely had to correct anything. I ended up buying two of them the next week, one for the truck and one for the bench. Fast forward to now and every time I grab one of my old push saws it feels like work, which kind of bugs me honestly. Any of you guys made the switch to pull saws full time, or do you keep both around depending on the job?
