Finally got my miter saw cuts perfect after years of being close enough
For the longest time, I'd just eyeball the fence and get a cut that was maybe a 32nd off... good enough for framing, I thought. Then I did a built-in bookcase last fall where every piece had to be exact, and my old way just didn't cut it. I finally took the time to square the blade to the table with a machinist's square and a feeler gauge, and now every joint is tight. What's the one small setup step you all do that makes the biggest difference in your finish work?

Check your tape measure against a known standard first.
