Messed up a whole kitchen install by not checking the floor first
Last Tuesday I was putting in some custom cabinets for a client in Portland and everything was going smooth. Got the uppers hung, started on the lowers, then realized the floor had a 3/8 inch dip right where the fridge was supposed to go. Pulled out my level and checked the whole run, sure enough that spot was off bad. Had to shim every single base cabinet and recut the toe kicks to match. Wasted like 2 hours and had to drive back to the shop for more material. The homeowner didn't seem to mind but I felt like an idiot for skipping that step. What do you guys do when you find a wonky subfloor halfway through a job?

Yeah nothing like discovering a floor problem you could've caught with one quick look.

@the_joseph true but honestly sometimes you look and still miss it if you don't know what to look for. step patterns and subfloor issues can hide real easy under a fresh coat of paint.
