Pro tip: A chalk line trick for long baseboard runs
Had to install 32 feet of baseboard solo yesterday. Instead of measuring each piece, I snapped a chalk line on the floor at the exact wall offset. Just held each piece against the line to mark the cuts. Saved me an hour at least. Anyone got other tricks for one person trim jobs?

That chalk line trick is a solid idea for long runs. I've used a story stick before for the same reason, just a marked piece of scrap wood. For inside corners, I sometimes cope one piece and just butt the other, saves a lot of fussy measuring.

Wait you installed 32 feet of baseboard by yourself... that's insane. My arms would have fallen off halfway through.

Honestly that story stick idea sounds like extra work for no reason. Tbh a tape measure is faster and you can't mess up the mark. Coping inside corners is a huge waste of time too, just cut both at 45 and caulk the gap. It looks fine when you paint it and takes half the skill.
