That fancy dovetail jig I bought still sits in the box

Paid $220 for a dovetail jig three months ago thinking it'd speed up my drawer work, but setting it up took longer than cutting the joints by hand. I went back to my old saw and chisel after two frustrating afternoons in the shop, and the jig's just collecting dust on the shelf. Anyone else drop serious cash on a gadget that ended up being more hassle than it was worth?

Wait, what was the actual setup that ate two afternoons? Was it getting the bit height dialed in, or the template alignment that kept slipping on you? I've seen guys dump those things after one bad weekend, but usually it's one specific step that's the dealbreaker, not the whole process.
