A homeowner in Scottsdale watched me cut a seam and said 'my dog could do that'.

I was on my knees in their living room, lining up a tricky pattern match on a $12k wool berber. The guy stood over me with a beer, pointed at my knife, and made the comment. He didn't see the two hours of prep or the fact I had to stretch it over a sunken slab. Has a client ever said something that made you just stop and stare for a second?

Honestly, that's brutal. Tbh it reminds me of a guy who watched me hand-sand a cabinet for an hour, then asked if we could just "spray some gloss on it" to finish faster. The lack of respect for the process is wild sometimes. Makes you want to hand them the tools and say "show me".

Forget the sanding, that gloss would ruin the grain.
