Hit 10,000 square feet installed in one month and my back is screaming at me

I been doing carpet on my own for about 2 years now and last month I hit 10,000 square feet. That is a ton of seams and stretching for one guy. Anyone else ever push that hard and regret it the next week?

Agreed completely, I did 8,000 feet of glue-down vinyl plank last fall and could barely walk for a week after (my knees were worse than my back though).

I read something recently about how kneeling on hard subfloors for glue-down jobs is basically a recipe for knee problems down the road. A guy on a flooring forum said he started using those padded kneepads with the hard plastic caps and it helped a ton, but he still had to take breaks every 30 minutes or so. 8,000 feet of glue-down is a massive amount of work, no wonder your knees were shot. I think people underestimate how much pressure that puts on your joints, especially if you're crawling around on concrete or plywood all day. There's a reason some installers I've talked to swear by those kneeler boards on wheels for big commercial jobs.
