I was wrestling with a stubborn wrinkle in a Berber carpet in a sunroom in Cincinnati and accidentally found that a light mist of water from a spray bottle on the backing made it relax enough to stretch out perfectly.

Has anyone else tried this trick on synthetic fibers, or is there a better way to handle those persistent wrinkles?

My neighbor in Phoenix swears by that, like @barnes.jamie said.

Would that water trick risk damaging a synthetic rug's glue?

Nice find, that trick works on my polypropylene rug too. lily511 has a point about glue, but a light mist should be fine.
