Just passed 10,000 square feet installed this month

I hit 10,000 square feet of carpet this month and honestly it surprised me. That's about 8 average living rooms worth of work all by myself. I use a 7 inch power stretcher and a lot of knee padding, nothing fancy. Has anyone else kept track of their monthly totals like this?

Keeping a monthly tally really puts things in perspective, doesn't it? 10K feet is a SOLID month for one person, especially if you're wrestling with a standard power stretcher instead of one of those fancy self-propelled rigs. I bet your knees feel that 8 living rooms worth by the end of the week, but there's a weird pride in seeing the number climb.

Switching to a good knee pad setup made a big difference for me. @campbell.nora you're right about the knees feeling it, I started using a rolling stool for the long stretches and it saved me a lot of pain. The tally helps too, I write the square footage on my framing square with a sharpie, keeps me honest about what I'm actually getting done each week. Nothing wrong with a standard power stretcher either, once you get the hang of it those fancy rigs just add weight to carry around.
