Just realized my old boss's glue trick is actually a fire hazard

Guy I worked with in Phoenix for 10 years always told me to use a fast-drying spray adhesive on seams to speed things up. Last week a spark from my cutter hit a fresh patch and nearly lit the whole room up. Has anyone else had an adhesive nearly go up on them?

Hold up though. I've been using that same spray adhesive for years on all kinds of jobs and never had a problem. The issue isn't the glue, it's letting puddles sit on the floor or not giving it a few seconds to flash off before using a tool that throws sparks. I've seen guys get lazy and sloppy with any product and blame the product when something goes wrong.

My buddy Dave worked at this cabinet shop in Tucson and he ALWAYS used that same fast-drying spray on their laminate countertops. One afternoon he was trimming a piece with a router and a spark from the bit went straight into this puddle of glue that had dripped on the floor. It went up like a freaking torch, burned a hole right through his jeans and gave him a second degree burn on his shin. The boss tried to brush it off like it was no big deal but Dave quit like two weeks later. That stuff is no joke when it's fresh and you're working with metal tools.
