Kitchen remodel week threw 3 curveballs and I survived somehow

Last Tuesday I showed up to a job in Boise where the homeowner had already ripped out the old carpet and padding, but left the tack strips in. Not a big deal until I realized they'd nailed them down with these massive ring shanks that took forever to pry. Then the power went out mid-cut for about 40 minutes, so I had to hand-cut the hallway seam in low light. By Friday the same house had a toilet leak that soaked 20 feet of the new pad, and we had to pull it all back up. Has anyone else dealt with a job that just keeps stacking problems like that, or is it just my luck lately?

Find out who pulled that toilet flange out before you went in there? Cause if the homeowner did their own demo and left the water running, that's on them, but if it was a previous contractor's mess, you might wanna document everything for when the insurance adjuster shows up. I've seen jobs turn into a blame game real fast when water damage gets involved, so having a paper trail on who touched what could save your ass later.
