Late night forum thread changed how I do stair carpet

I was scrolling through some old installer threads around 2am last week and read a guy talking about how he now staples every stair landing instead of tack strip. I always thought tack strip was the only way, but he explained how often the carpet puckers on wide landings because the strip gives too much. Tried it on a job in Austin yesterday, a big two story with 3 landings, and honestly the finish looked cleaner. Anyone else ditched tack strip on stairs for something else?
