My power stretcher was backwards for 6 years and a hallway job showed me
I've been installing since 2018 and always set the pins pointing away from me, thought that was just how it worked. Then last Tuesday on a long hallway in a condo off Elm Street, the carpet kept rippling no matter how much I kicked the knee kicker. An older installer walked by and asked why my teeth were facing the wrong direction, I laughed until he flipped it around. First pass after that, the carpet laid flat like it was glued down. I felt like such a rookie, 6 years of extra stretching and seam pulling for nothing. Anyone else found out a basic tool trick after years of doing it the hard way?
