Tbh I thought power stretchers were overkill until a 12x15 in Boise proved me wrong
Honestly for my first 4 years I did every room with a knee kicker and a lot of muscle. A guy I worked with kept saying I was crazy and that my seams would show within a year. I blew him off because the jobs looked fine on the day I left. Then last spring I got called back to a rental in Boise where the carpet had rippled in 3 spots after just 8 months. I broke down and got a used power stretcher off a retired guy for $200 and redid that room in about 40 minutes. The backing laid way flatter and I could actually feel the difference when I walked it. Now I want to know how many of you still kick everything, or did you switch once you saw it for yourself?
