The power stretcher I almost returned is now my favorite tool

I bought a Crain 618 power stretcher about 2 years ago and honestly thought it was overkill for residential jobs. But after a job in a 30 foot long hallway in a house near Austin, hand stretching left ripples I couldn't fix. Tried the power stretcher out of frustration and it pulled everything tight in one pass. Has anyone else had a tool they were skeptical about that ended up saving them time?

Bet you never thought you'd apologize to a tool for doubting it, @kevin_roberts41.

Oh man, my angle grinder sat in the box for a year before I used it on one tile job and it was a total game changer.

That's about how it goes with most of my tools too. Bought a nice oscillating multi-tool a couple years back, sat in the drawer so long I forgot I had it. Finally busted it out for some trim work and felt like a genius for having it. Now it's the first thing I grab for any quick cut or sanding job. Funny how the stuff we put off using ends up being the handiest.
