Thought the kicker was a gimmick until a 1970s split-level in Dayton proved me wrong
Back in my early days I watched an old installer use a knee kicker on a stretch job and figured it was just a habit from before power stretchers, so I stuck with my stretcher for 15 years. Then last month on a 1970s split-level in Dayton with a tricky hallway and two tight closets, my power stretcher wouldn't fit right and I dug out the old kicker from the truck, and it got the carpet tight in half the setup time. Any of you still keep one on the truck for tight spots like that, or is it just me finally coming around?
