Warning: That expensive seam tape from Midwest Supplies is garbage now

Had a job in Des Moines last Tuesday, big living room with a nice plush carpet. Used that seam tape I've been buying for years from Midwest. Stuff just wouldn't stick right in the middle of the run. Peeling up after I rolled it. Had to pull the whole seam and redo it with the cheap tape from Home Depot, which worked fine. Wasted about 45 minutes and a partial roll of carpet. Anyone else run into their tape lately?

Last Tuesday I was crawling around on my hands and knees in a ripped pair of work pants trying to make that same tape behave. Really made me question my life choices.

Wait, but what if the tape wasn't the real problem? Ive been thinking about this and the ripped pants are actually the bigger story here. That means you had to work harder because every time you moved you felt that tear getting bigger. So instead of just wrestling tape you were also fighting to keep your pants together. I bet the tape would have been way easier if you had on some thick jeans that didn't make you feel like a half dressed idiot.
