Watched a helper at a job in Fresno flame the seam on 8 month old berber, and the before and after was hard to look at
So about 3 months back we had a repair call on a beige berber in Fresno, and the homeowner told us the original crew was in and out in what felt like a rush. My guy pulled the tape on a seam and the latex had dried out to where it crumbled in his fingers like old bread. He hit the same seam with the iron for maybe 20 seconds too long and the whole thing went from a tight invisible line to a frayed 3/4 inch gap in under 2 minutes. I took a photo before and after and showed it to my crew, and two of the young guys admitted they had been running the iron hot to save time. What changed over those 8 months was simple, too much heat and not enough slow passes, and the backing just let go. Anyone else seeing dry latex on repairs from that same builder in the valley, or is it just the heat out here?
