A title company slip-up in Waxhaw cost my buyers 3 weeks
I was at a closing last Friday and the other agent mentioned how a simple recording error at the county office held up her clients for almost three weeks. She said the deed description had a typo from the title search, and nobody caught it until the day of closing. It got me thinking about how many times we just trust the paperwork without double checking the legal description. Her buyers had to move out of their rental and into a hotel because the new house wasn't technically theirs yet. Has anyone else had a surprise like that pop up from a title search or survey in the greater Charlotte area? What do you ask for upfront to avoid that kind of delay?
