Contingency inspection fail on a $315k Ballantyne townhome, who eats the loss?
I was sitting in my car off Providence Road waiting on the inspector's call, and he hit me with knob and tube wiring hidden behind the drywall. Seller said they had no clue, buyer wanted to walk, and the agent on the other side insisted we renegotiate closing costs. I ended up splitting the $4,200 fix three ways just to keep the deal alive. Has anyone else had an unseen wiring surprise force them into a three party split, or do you usually make the seller cover it all?

...and that's exactly what happened to me up in Davidson, except it was K&T in a brick rancher and the seller played totally clueless too. We ended up splitting it 50/50 and I ate the extra costs on the inspection and the rewire crew's overtime. Honestly, three ways sounds like you got off easy, man. I still swear that house had a hidden fuse box somewhere that nobody ever found.
