Just found out property taxes in Charlotte went up 18% this year

I was looking at my new tax assessment online and couldn't believe the jump from last year. My house value went up way faster than I expected, but the tax rate staying the same still hit me hard. Anyone else get surprised by their new tax bill this month?

Used to think taxes were too low here but yeah, that jump stings.

Oh man, did you see how much it went up this year? I was looking at my pay stub and I swear I almost choked on my coffee. Same here, I always thought we could use a bit more for roads and stuff but this feels like they went overboard. It's hitting my paycheck way harder than I expected and I'm already scraping by with rent and everything else. Feels like every time I turn around there's another fee or jump somewhere.
