My inspector missed the slow pipe leak in the crawlspace

Bought a house in Plaza Midwood back in January. Inspector said everything looked fine. Three months later I noticed the water bill jumping from $80 to $150 a month. Crawled under there myself and found a pinhole leak in the copper pipe under the bathroom. Plumber said it had been dripping into the insulation for at least 6 weeks. Cost me $1,200 to fix and replace the soggy vapor barrier. Has anyone else had an inspector blow past something obvious like this?

My buddy had almost the exact same thing happen in his house in Dilworth. Inspector marked the crawlspace as "dry and in good shape" but three months later he found a tiny leak where the copper pipe ran under the guest bathroom. His water bill shot up too. Plumber said the leak had been going for at least two months based on the mold in the insulation. Cost him almost a grand to get it all fixed and the barrier replaced.

And it's always the stupid tiny leak too, not the big obvious ones.
