My offer on a house in Plaza Midwood got beat by $75k over asking last month
We put in what we thought was a strong bid on a place on Clement Avenue, went $30k over the list price and waived the inspection. Found out we lost to someone who offered a full $105k over, all cash, no contingencies. It feels impossible to compete right now unless you're coming in with a massive pile of money. Has anyone actually won a house in a hot area like that recently without going totally insane?

Just saw a house down the street sell for over asking price in two days, @evayoung. The buyers waived the inspection. Who does that? It feels like people are just throwing money at any listing.
