Question about listing photos: Should you stage a room or just shoot it empty?

I just listed a house in the Elizabeth neighborhood near 7th Street, and I spent hours moving furniture around to make it look "lived in." But then a friend who sells in South End said she gets more clicks on empty rooms because buyers can actually picture their own stuff. Now I'm wondering if I wasted a whole Saturday. What's your experience with staged vs. empty photos in Charlotte?

Wait until you hear how many Saturdays I've wasted rearranging throw pillows that nobody noticed.

I get what you're saying about the throw pillows, but I actually think staging gives buyers a sense of scale and flow that empty rooms just can't show. When I listed my folks' place near Plaza Midwood, staging helped people understand how a couch and table could actually fit in the living room. Have you ever tried shooting half the rooms empty and half staged to see which ones get more saves?
