Rant: People keep saying 'just buy in South End' like it's the only option

I was looking at condos for about 6 months and every single person, even my agent at first, kept pushing me towards South End. I finally looked at a place in Villa Heights for $375,000 and it was way better for what I actually needed. It's like everyone just repeats the same three neighborhoods without thinking. Has anyone else found a good spot in Charlotte that gets ignored?

Right? "Just buy in South End" is like a broken record. I had the same thing happen looking in Plaza Midwood, everyone acted like it was the only walkable spot. Found a great place in NoDa for way less stress.
