Rant: That $400 home inspection I paid for missed a leaky roof

Just closed on a house in Dilworth two months ago and found out the roof has a slow leak during the first heavy rain. The inspector I hired talked a big game about being thorough, but now I'm looking at a $1,200 repair bill. Anyone else had an inspection that missed something obvious?

Why do these guys always miss the obvious stuff? I had a similar problem with a home inspection where they didn't catch a cracked sewer line. Ended up costing me way more than your roof, like $3k to fix. It's like they just walk around with a clipboard and don't actually look at anything. Feel for you man, that leaky roof sucks.

Is a cracked sewer line really that much worse than a leaky roof though?
