Serious question, I always shrugged at extra square footage until my board game collection needed its own room in a Dilworth bungalow.

My friend had to stop buying hardcover books because the weight was making his apartment floor sag, lol. He had these cheap kallax units full of them and the building manager got involved. Started storing new purchases on his phone like some kind of sad digital library.

My own shelves are basically a safety hazard at this point, @michael483. I've got paperbacks stacked sideways on top of hardcovers because there's no room, and the whole thing leans like the Tower of Pisa. I'm pretty sure the middle shelf is just particleboard and hope. At this rate my next read will be from a pile of books on the floor.
