Showing a house in NoDa, the buyer's dog tried to claim the master closet.

I was showing a cute bungalow near 36th Street last month, and the young couple brought their small terrier along. The dog ran straight into the walk-in closet, laid down on the floor, and the wife looked at her husband and said, 'Well, I guess this one's the winner, he's already moved in.' Has anyone else had a pet make the final decision on a Charlotte home?

Used to think that was silly until my cat refused to leave a sunroom.

Seriously, letting a dog pick a house? That's a huge financial choice based on a pet's random whim. What if the roof is bad or the schools are terrible, but the dog liked the closet?
