Warning: My realtor gave me bad advice on a south Charlotte flip
My realtor told me last month I didn't need a home inspection on a 1950s ranch near Dilworth because it looked clean. I trusted her and bid $275k, then found out the foundation had cracks and the sewer line was busted. The repairs would run me $15k easy, and now I'm stuck negotiating down or walking away. Has anyone else had a realtor skip on the inspection and regret it later?

Oh man, "looked clean" is exactly what my uncle said about the used car he bought me for my 16th birthday. Spoiler alert: it was not clean, it was held together with duct tape and prayers. I mean, I'm the kind of person who skips reading the instructions on IKEA furniture, but skipping an inspection on a house from the 50s feels like playing Russian roulette with a whole house. Hope you can negotiate that down, seriously.

I mean I get what you're saying but honestly houses from the 50s are built way better than new ones half the time. Like my grandparents place is still standing solid and my friend's brand new build already has cracks in the drywall.
