Went with the lowest bid for a home inspection in the 28205 area and it cost me big time

I was trying to save a few hundred bucks on my offer for a place near Plaza Midwood, so I hired an inspector my agent said was 'fast and cheap' for $350. They missed major foundation cracks and active termite damage in the crawl space, which I only found out about from the termite treatment guy two weeks after closing. Has anyone else gotten burned by a budget inspector and have a solid recommendation for someone thorough?

Fast and cheap" is such a red flag lol. Did your agent have any kind of backup plan or did they just totally wash their hands of it after the sale went through?

Yeah, "fast and cheap" makes me wonder if the agent even checked the buyer's actual funding source (like, was it even real?).

Actually, @theagarcia, the agent's job is mostly done after closing. They don't really have a backup plan for the buyer's loan falling through later. That's on the lender and the buyer.
