Had a perfect Saturday service last weekend at the bistro downtown
We were slammed from 6 to 10 PM with a full reservation book at Le Petit on Main Street. For once, every ticket came out clean, no fires, and the line cooks nailed their temps on all 42 covers. Even the sous chef gave me a nod, which almost never happens. Anyone else have a shift that just clicks like that out of nowhere?

Used to think those perfect shifts were just luck or people bragging online. Always figured nobody really gets through a full dinner rush without at least one thing going sideways. Then last Saturday my section ran like a dream for the first time in months. Every order timed right, no mods getting screwed up, even the new expo kid kept up. After that shift I get it now. There's something real about that flow state where everything just works. Made me stop rolling my eyes when I read posts like this.

Get a solid pre-shift briefing in before you hit that kind of rush. Make it a habit to run through every mod and allergy with the expo and line 15 minutes before doors open. When you catch that flow state, don't overthink it, just keep moving with the same rhythm. If a ticket comes in weird, call it out loud and clear right away rather than hoping it gets fixed. That's how you keep the streak going shift after shift instead of just hoping for luck.
