My sourdough starter went flat on me after 3 years
It happened last Tuesday morning, right before a big bake. The starter I've kept alive since 2021 just wouldn't rise, even after two feeds. I panicked and called my buddy who runs a bakery in Charlotte. He asked one question: 'What's the temp in your kitchen?' Turns out my AC had been running non-stop and my kitchen was at 62 degrees, way too cold for it to work right. I moved the jar to the top of my fridge and it was back to normal by dinner. Anyone have a good trick for keeping starter warm during a cold snap?

Mine did that last winter, I was convinced I'd killed it. Turns out I just needed to move it away from the drafty window.

How far from the window did you move it? I've got a couple plants that might need the same fix.
