Watch out for relatives messing with your sharp tools

My nephew grabbed my best slicer to cut a frozen pizza box. The blade got nicked and now it's useless for fine tasks. How do you stop family from treating your equipment like junk?

Sounds about right. The logic of using a precision blade on cardboard, let alone frozen cardboard, is truly special. I've started hiding my good stuff in the oven, because God knows none of them are gonna cook anything.

That oven trick is genius until you forget and turn it on. I melted a plastic container full of coupons last week because I stashed it in there. Now my kitchen smells like regret and burnt plastic. Guess I'm not much better with logic than the frozen cardboard crew. At least my hiding spot is warm for a few minutes.

Think about what could happen if that plastic caught fire. Would your insurance cover a kitchen fire?
