Bought a cheap camera scope for inspections and it died after two jobs

I dropped $180 on a 'professional' grade inspection camera from an online ad. The picture was okay for the first chimney in Cedar Rapids, but by the second job the screen just went black. Tried new batteries, checked the cable, nothing. That's a full day's pay gone just like that. Anyone have a brand they've actually used for a year without it breaking?

Yeah, I got burned the same way on a cheap borescope for looking at car stuff. Total junk. What finally worked for me was just saving up for a Ridgid brand one from the hardware store. It's not fancy, but the thing has survived my garage for three years now. @the_sarah is right about those "pro" ads being a trap. You end up paying more in the long run when the first one breaks on the second job. I learned my lesson the hard way too.

Ugh, I used to fall for those cheap "pro" tools too.
