Heard a customer in Denver say they only get their chimney cleaned after they smell smoke. Made me realize how many folks don't know the yearly schedule.

That's a scary way to live. Waiting for the smoke smell means creosote has already built up to a dangerous level. It's a major fire hazard. A yearly cleaning before the cold season starts is the only safe bet. Do you know when your last inspection was?

Exactly, that's what worries me too. My neighbor had a chimney fire last winter because they waited for a smell. It was terrifying to see the fire trucks show up. Now I schedule my cleaning every September like clockwork. It just isn't worth the risk to skip it.
