That $260 chimney balloon in Seattle was useless for my flue size

I bought that fancy inflatable balloon to block drafts last winter and it slipped right past my 8 inch liner into the damper, so I got to spend a Saturday afternoon fishing it out with a coat hanger, has anyone else had better luck with those things or is it just magnetic dampers from here on out?
