That old rotary brush finally gave up after 11 years
The belt snapped mid-sweep on a two-story flue in St. Paul yesterday, and I wasted 6 hours waiting on a replacement from the supply house. Always carry a spare belt in your truck now, because the one time you don't, it's always a Monday with a full schedule. Has anyone else had a brush housing crack after a decade of use, or am I just unlucky?

11 years out of a brush housing isnt unlucky, that's actually pretty decent mileage. Most guys I know are replacing those things every 5 or 6 years. Maybe you got lucky with how you store it in the truck during winter.

its all about the cold honestly. leave that plastic sitting in a freezing truck bed and it gets brittle fast, i always toss mine in the cab if i know temps are gonna drop hard. plus the salt and grime from the roads eats through the seals way faster than wear and tear from actual brushing.
