Dropped $340 on a home energy audit and all I got was a guy telling me to buy LED bulbs
Honestly I feel dumb even typing this out. I paid $340 back in April for one of those fancy home energy audits they push on you when you ask your utility company about lowering your bill. The guy walked around my place for 20 minutes, pointed at my attic insulation, and handed me a printout that basically said "get LED bulbs and seal your windows." I already had LED bulbs in every single fixture, and I could have bought a $12 tube of caulk and figured out the window thing myself. The only thing he found that was actually useful was a small leak near my back door, and honestly my neighbor pointed that same thing out for free two weeks later. Has anyone here actually gotten real value out of one of these audits or is it just a $300 lightbulb lecture?
