Electric co-op in rural Virginia cut my bill by $40 a month with a free energy audit

I signed up for a home energy audit from my local electric co-op, Rappahannock Electric, back in February. They sealed my ductwork and added attic insulation for free. My March bill dropped from $185 to $145. Has anyone else had luck with utility rebates or audits in their area?

Crazy what a few tweaks can do when power companies actually help instead of just sending bills.

Check your insulation first, that's usually where the biggest leaks are. I did all my own attic sealing with spray foam and it paid for itself within a year. Also look into weatherstripping around doors and windows, that's another cheap fix that adds up quick.
