Just realized most people are setting their AC to 68 and wondering why their bill is insane
I worked at an HVAC place for two summers and saw so many folks cranking it way down. Setting it to 78 instead of 68 saves about 15% on cooling costs, and a ceiling fan makes it feel way cooler anyways. Anyone else notice people overdoing the AC settings?

yeah 78 feels warm if you're used to 68 but your body adjusts after like a week. the real killer though is humidity, not just temp. if you live somewhere humid, 78 with a dehumidifier running actually feels way cooler than 75 with high humidity. most people don't get that and just keep dropping the thermostat instead.
