My electric bill in July was $300 and I finally got it.
I kept the AC at 68 all summer, thought I was just beating the heat. Then my neighbor mentioned her bill was half mine. She keeps her house at 74 and uses blackout curtains. I felt like an idiot. It's not just about comfort, it's about waste. Anyone else have a simple home fix that cut their energy use?

Why are we acting like saving a few bucks is more important than being comfortable in your own home? Life's too short to sweat through the summer just to pinch pennies. If you can afford the bill, that cool air is worth every cent.
