My household hit 1 ton of composted food waste and I'm honestly shocked

We started weighing our kitchen scraps back in March after I got tired of guessing. This morning the scale hit 1,000 pounds total, that's a full ton of stuff that didn't go to the landfill. Our little backyard bin in Portland has been chugging along with worms and yard clippings, but I never thought we'd get here this fast. It made me wonder how many other families track their diversion numbers like this, or are we just weird about the scale? Has anyone else hit a random milestone that made the effort feel real?
