Good on you for noticing that. If you want to do something similar at home, grab a simple notebook and a pen you actually like using. Write down one or two things you notice each day, like the light coming through your window or how your coffee tastes. Keep it short and just for yourself, no need to show anyone. After a week, flip back through and you'll start seeing patterns in what you pay attention to. It trains your brain to slow down and notice the small stuff that makes a place feel real. Start today and see if it changes how you see your own neighborhood by next month.

All that noticing stuff is fine if you've got time to kill, but most of us are just trying to get through the day without adding another chore. I've walked past that same coffee shop window a hundred times and never once wished I'd written down how the light looked. Honestly, forcing yourself to pay attention to every little detail sounds exhausting and kind of counterproductive, like you're spending so much time noticing things you forget to actually live your life.
