Pro tip: A carpool system at work cut our commute emissions big time
We have about fifty people at our company, and parking was always a hassle. Our HR person got us all to map our routes and set up a shared calendar for rides. In two months, we've reduced solo drives by half. I've saved money on gas and met coworkers I never talked to before. It's a small win for the planet and team spirit.

Ever miss having that alone time in the car though?

Yeah the "alone time" thing is so real. I saw a tweet that was like "we used to pay to go to sensory deprivation tanks and now we miss our free commute pods" lol. Kinda wild to miss traffic.

What if that alone time in the car wasn't so peaceful after all? @murphy.sarah's tweet about missing free commute pods is funny... but my commute was mostly just draining. Carpooling changed it from wasted time to a chance to talk. Sure, you lose some privacy, but you gain real talk and split the cost. After a while, I started to see the drive as part of my social day, not just a chore. So maybe we're better off without that solo drive silence.
