Rant: My town council just voted against a solar farm project last week

They had a whole plan for a 50-acre site on the old mill property. The vote was close, 4 to 3. The main reason they gave was 'visual impact' on the edge of town. It feels so short-sighted when we need clean power. The company said it could have powered about 1,500 homes. Has your local government ever blocked a good project for a bad reason?

Visual impact" is such a weak reason to block clean power.

Used to think that way too. Then saw a wind farm go up near my hometown. Totally wrecked the whole skyline. Changed my mind fast. It's not just about looks, it's about losing places that feel like home.

Yeah, "losing places that feel like home" really hits hard. I get that. It's easy for people who don't live there to just see clean power, but you see your whole view changed forever. That feeling of home is tied to the land, and when it looks totally different, it feels like a loss. It's not just about looks, it's about memory and place.
